History of the company
In 1997, La Fournée Dorée acquired the company EDER based in Homécourt, in the Meurthe-et-Moselle region of France.
This acquisition enabled La Fournée Dorée to develop a regional speciality and tailor it to supermarkets in France and neighbouring countries. Very soon sales of the Chinois - an original soft brioche-type cake with a crème pâtissière filling - were booming. La Fournée Dorée's subsequent development was built upon its fine ingredients, flavour and the gourmet attraction of its products.
Two years later, La Fournée Dorée took up residence in the Vendée region of France, at La Mothe-Achard. Other delicious recipes were meanwhile released under the La Fournée Dorée brand name.
With its new logo of the now-famous little girl, La Fournée Dorée products were available on the shelves of supermarkets everywhere. The production sites in Lorraine and the Vendée had to develop in order to meet constantly growing demand.
In 2005, La Fournée Dorée launched its brand name on television for the first time, with a national advertising campaign. This emphasised the originality of the recipes and the quality of the ingredients, using the antics of a little girl "hosting" an imaginary cookery programme, with the help of her teddy bear. The campaign enabled the brand to establish its image, develop its reputation and expand its range to include even tastier products.
La Fournée Dorée is currently the third leading brand in France in the market for pastries. It employs more than 380 staff in its two production sites.
