Job description
Lanthier Bakery, a subsidiary of La Fournée Dorée Group and producer of the famous brioche breads, is looking for a Relief Production Supervisor to join the team at its Baie-D’Urfé facility.If you’re looking to join a growing family-owned company and develop your skills in the industrial baking sector, this is your opportunity. Description:
The Relief Supervisor – Production/Packaging is a key support to both the Production/Sanitation Assistant and the Packaging/Logistics Assistant within their respective teams. When not filling in for others, the Relief Supervisor works full-time on advancing various departmental projects. On the production floor, they manage employees across all production and/or packaging departments. While respecting cost and time constraints, the Relief Supervisor mobilizes the necessary human and technical resources to ensure the successful execution of production and packaging programs. They stay informed of all ongoing and upcoming actions within their departments, across all areas, and ensure proper implementation.
Responsibilities
Production Organization
- Validates schedules prepared by the planning department
- Ensures technical resources and equipment are operational
- Approves team reorganizations
- Communicates progress to the relevant departments
- Ensures appropriate actions are taken in case of equipment malfunctions and defines corrective measures in collaboration with the technical teams
- Organizes production and packaging line cleanings with the relevant departments
Team Management
- Plans employee vacations
- Supervises, engages, and motivates employees through instructions, debriefings, meetings, etc.
- Identifies recruitment needs and informs the appropriate assistant
- Verifies employee training progress and ensures proper validation of newly trained staff
Continuous Improvement
- Works full-time on improvement projects when not covering for others
- Ensures proper communication of information to management and team members
- Suggests improvements to workstations or equipment organization
- Implements necessary records to better analyze recurring issues and helps define corrective actions
Required Qualifications
- Training or experience in food industry supervision
- Minimum of 5 years’ experience in team supervision within an industrial environment
- Strong command of both French and English, spoken and written
- Experience in the food industry (considered an asset)
