Easy
Ingredients
- 4 Angel Bay Gourmet Beef burger patties
- 4 Mainland American Style Cheddar Cheese Slices
- 2 Brioche Gourmet burger buns with sesame seeds
- Leaderbrand lettuce – Cos/romaine and shredded iceberg lettuce
- 1 medium red onion, sliced into thick rings
- 1-2 Beekist® Sandwich Tomatoes, sliced thickly
- McClure’s Sweet & Spicy Crinkle Cut Pickles
A selection of sauces:
- Masterfoods Mild American Mustard
- Kewpie Mayonnaise
- Watties tomato sauce
Preparation
- Fire up the BBQ to a high heat and spray the hotplate with some cooking oil. If you are cooking the burgers inside, spray a heavy cast-iron skillet with cooking spray and preheat until almost smoking.
- Season the meat patties with a little salt just before cooking.
- Place 2-4 patties on the BBQ grill or in the skillet (depending how many fit) and cook for 12 minutes, flipping every 3-4 minutes to cook evenly.
- Top each pattie with a cheese slice and cook for another 1 1/2 minutes…. the cheese will melt perfectly!
- Toast your buns on the BBQ or under the grill for 1-2 of minutes on the cut side until light golden.
- Smear each half with your sauces of choice. Feel free to mix’n’match to get your perfect combo!
- Add the lettuce, tomato and patty to the bottom bun in that order so the lettuce sticks to the sauce which will help it all hold together.
- Next add the McClure’s Pickles spread across the cheese followed by the onion slices. Top with the second meat patty, cheesy side up.
- Finally add the top bun or lid to top off the lot, then demolish your burger! Have some paper towels on hand because this is going to get messy.
Enjoy !
